Mercy Worldwide treats local seniors
On Mercy Worldwide Day, June 16, the Kona branch of the nonprofit reached out to seniors in our community at the Hualalai Elderly Housing, with 96 residents. Encouraging and building up the seniors with gifts.
Donations were collected from many local businesses in the community, including Baskin Robbins, Big Island Grill, Herbivores, Icicles A Hair Salon, Island Naturals Market &Deli, Killer Tacos, Kona Coast House of Lights, McDonalds, Mi’s Waterfront Bistro, Mrs. Barry’s Kona Cookies, Outback Steak House, Pink Mocha, Spoon Shop, Rainbow Cafe, Royal Thai Cafe, and Orchid Thai Restaurant.
Monetary donations were collected from the community as well, resulting in a bag full of wonderful gifts for each resident at the elderly housing. Flowers were gathered for lei making to present the seniors with a true sense of aloha.
All of the seniors at the Hualalai Housing in Kona felt special thanks to the kindness showed them on Mercy Worldwide Day.
