Leroy Lewi

Mr. Leroy Lihau Lewi, 60, of Kamuela, died April 26, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 12, 1957, in Hamakua, he was a groundskeeper and banquet porter at the former Kona Surf Resort. He was a mechanic helper at the Kona Country Club and a meat cutter for Island Pork Produce.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. June 24 at the Kona Palisades recreation center for an 11 a.m. celebration of life. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Lewi of Kailua-Kona; son, Kaleo (Aloha) of Holualoa; daughters, Lushanya (Dennis) Martin of Kailua-Kona, Lacey (Roman) Rodrigues of Las Vegas, Lennell Lewi of Kailua-Kona; brother, Karl Lewi of Nanakuli, Oahu; sister, Rebecca Zettler of Nanakuli, Oahu; four grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Julia Gonzaga

Julia Barbosa Gonzaga, 84, of Pahala, died May 28, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oct. 12, 1933, in North Bacsil, Bangued, Abra, Philippines, she was a retired Macadamia Nut Harvester for the Mac Farms of Hawaii and she also was a member of the Pahala, Holy Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. June 22 for an all night vigil at the family residence at 96-1170 Holei Street in Pahala. Wake service is at 7 p.m. Friends may call again from 8-9:30 a.m. June 23 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed. Burial to follow at the Pahala Holy Rosary Church Cemetery.

She is survived by husband, Domingo U. Gonzaga of Pahala; sons, Isidro (Vicky) Alvarez of Temecula, Calif., Floyd (Helen) Alvarez of Wahiawa, Alex (Virgie) Alvarez of Waipahu, Val “Toy” Alvarez of Jacksonville, Fla. and Joselito (Cindy) Enovejas of Hilo; daughters, Cecilia Alvarez Dalere of Hilo, Leticia Alvarez Bautista of Kapolei; Aggie England of Hawaii Kai and Zenaida (Leslie) Andrade of Naalehu; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leonetta Kinard

Leonetta Keolaokalani Osorio Kinard, 92, of Pauoa, Oahu and formerly of Hilo, died on May 15, 2018, at home. She was born in Hilo and was a retired business owner, former member of the Houselots Kumiai and the University Extension Group-Nu Oli.

Friends may call 9-11 a.m. June 23 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. memorial service. Urn committal services will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park. Aloha attire.

She is survived by her daughter, Leolinda Parlin of Honolulu; brother, Elroy (Delene) Osorio, Sr. of Hilo; hanai daughter, Berta Kaili of Pacifica, Calif.; one sister-in-law; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Noah Nihau

Noah Kaanohiokala Halekauwila Nihau, 67, of Ocean View and formerly of Las Vegas, died Jan. 8, 2018, at home. He was born in Puueopaku and was a professional musician.

Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 23 at the Wailoa State Park Pavilion No. 2, for a 1 p.m. celebration of life. Casual attire, no flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Joyce Tidlund Nihau of Canada; sons, Trent (Napua) Nihau of Hilo, Torrey (Dallas) Nihau of Canada, Troy Nihau of Hilo, Allen Piliwale-Ugalde of Oregon and Noah K. Leonisa “Nei Nei” Jamito Rayoan, 93, of Hilo, died June 3, 2018, at home. She was born in Hilo and was a homemaker.

Fredrick Lammerman

Fredrick Austin Lammerman, 79, of Kailua-Kona, died May 30, 2018, in Kailua-Kona. Born May 4, 1939, in Connecticut, he served our country in the Marine Corp. He moved to Kailua-Kona after retiring from the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathleen and Kent Gillmore of Kurtistown; three grandchildren.

Robert Mitchell, Sr.

Mr. Robert Liwai Mitchell, Sr. 76, of Puuanahulu, died May 23, 2018. Born June 5, 1941, in Hawaii, he was a retired truck driver of Mitchell Trucking and West Hawaii Concrete. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a U.S. Army veteran.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Kona Stake center in Kailua-Kona for a 10 a.m. service.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Mitchell of Puuanahulu; son, Robert (Lesley) Mitchell, Jr. of Puuanahulu; daughters, Sheree (Jeffrey) Malina of Puuanahulu, Wendelin (Clifford) Medeiros of Kalaoa, and Kimberlyn (Kelly) Kaiwa of Seattle; sisters, Mary Tarpley of Kailua-Kona, Emmaline (William) Hooper of Puuanahulu, Joan Marie Respicio of Hilo; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
