Manuel Rivera
Manuel Santiago Rivera, 99 of Pahoa, died May 8, 2018. Born on Aug. 6, 1918, in Honolulu, he was a Merchant Marine cook.
Friends may call 9:30 a.m. June 15 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo, 570 Kinoole Street, for a 10 a.m. service. Burial at Alae Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
He is survived by sons, Albert (Patricia) Rivera of Oahu, Manuel (Ruth) Rivera of Pahoa, Michael Rivera of Pahoa; daughter, Diana (Thomas) Darney of Mountain View; sisters, Emily Barretto of Kauai, Margaret Tolaroc of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharon Bolton
Sharon Talbert Bolton died May 31, 2018, in Burbank, Calif. Born June 19, 1926, in South Gate, Calif., she was a retired Pacific Telephone operator, Life Master Duplicate bridge player and member of the Kona Bridge Club. She moved to Hawaii in 1981 and returned to California in 2015.
A private celebration will take place June 19. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Kona, 75-5925 Walua Road, #101, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen.
She is survived by daughters, Carla Communigs of Lancaster, Calif., and Michele (John) Pingitore Marot of North Hollywood, Calif.; four grandsons, one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.
Laura Pringle
Laura Hamilton Pringle, 93, of Laupahoehoe, died June 9, 2018, at home. Born in Topeka, Kan., She was a homemaker.

Umeyo “Alice” Hayashida, 86, of Hilo died May 29, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahoa, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons, Wendell (Chong Hayashi) Hayashida of Hilo, Tad (Kawai Dudoit) Hayashida of Hilo; sister, Michiko Oyama of Hilo; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; three grandsons, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Patrocinio Sacayanan
Patrocinio “Pat” “Cinio” P. Sacayanan, 70, of Papaaloa, died May 31, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on June 6, 1947, in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired sugar cane seed cutter for the former Hamakua Sugar Plantation Company. He also was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa.
Friends may call from 8-9:45 a.m. June 22 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa, for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire. Burial will be at the Church Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Rosabella “Rose” Sacayanan of Papaaloa; daughters, Lina (Giovanni) Sacayanan and Raquel (Donald) Sacayanan of Papaaloa; sons, Ben (Loida) Sacayanan of Honokaa and Rodel (Mary) Sacayanan of Waialua, Oahu; brothers, Diego Sacayanan, Elpedio Sacayanan, Urel Sacayanan of Philippines; sisters, Aning Sacayanan of Philippines, Zenaida Taroma of Maui; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Shannon Rudolph
Kathryn Hires Banks, 97, of Holualoa, formerly of Albuquerque, N. M. died Monday, June 4, 2018, the at the Kona Community Hospital. Born 1920 in Odum, Ga., she was a Realtor, school principal, bookkeeper, and music lover.
A Hawaii life celebration will be held at a later date (Bosco, 322-6604) as well as services in Portales, N.M.
She is preceded in death by husband, Lt. Col. John Banks.
She is survived by sister, Margie Vint, Florence, S.C., daughter, Ginger Peterson and son, Tom Banks, (Kandi) of Portales, N.M., son, Daniel Banks, (Carolyn) of Artesia, N.M. and David Banks (Shannon) of Holualoa; two nieces and one nephew, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Celine Ranan
Celine Gloria Tandoc Ranan, 20, of Hilo, died May 29, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oct. 9, 1997, in Hilo, she worked at Kona Costco Wholesale as a service clerk.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. June 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again from 8:30-10 a.m. June 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Casual attire and flowers, lei are welcomed. Cremation at Dodo Mortuary Crematory and an urn committal will be held at a later date.
She is survived by parents, Edwin and Christina Ranan of Hilo; sisters, Elena (Ian) Pearson of Vancouver, Wash., Chelsea Ranan of Hilo and Emily (Kelson Pulgados) Ranan of Pepeekeo; one nephew and niece; maternal grandparents of Ontario, Canada; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
