KAILUA-KONA — The deadline to file nomination papers to appear on the 2018 Election ballot is 4:30 p.m. June 5.

Individuals interested in becoming a candidate may obtain and file nomination papers at various locations statewide. The Office of Elections also noted that candidates should collect more than the minimum number of signatures required and file well before the deadline.

Hawaii Island candidate filing locations for federal, state and county offices are located in Hilo and Kailua-Kona.

In Kailua-Kona, visit the County of Hawaii – Kona Elections Division at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building B, 2nd floor or call 323-4400. The office is open 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, by appointment only.

In Hilo, visit the Office of the County Clerk at 25 Aupuni St., Room 1502, or call 961-8277. The office is open 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
