Greenwell Farms praised in global tour book
Greenwell Farms earned top praise recently in Lonely Planet’s Global Coffee Tour book, a taster’s guide to the world’s best coffee experiences.
Researched and compiled by Lonely Planet’s network of coffee-obsessed travel experts, Global Coffee Tour shows readers how to find each farm recommendation, which coffees to sample as well as suggesting other local highlights including museums, galleries, hikes, shops and markets — so coffee lovers everywhere can make a day or weekend visit to the world’s greatest coffee experiences.
Lonely Planet’s coffee tour book states, “Among a handful of Kona coffee farms open to the public, none is more historic than Greenwell Farms, established in the 1850s. Friendly tour guides at this family-oriented farm will patiently explain the entire process from harvesting and pulping coffee cherries to drying and roasting the beans. This is your chance to get up close and smell a coffee tree, as well as to taste free samples of freshly brewed coffee.”
It features 150 coffee farms in 37 countries.
“We are honored to be the featured Kona coffee farm in Lonely Planet’s Global Coffee Tour book,” Greenwell Farms president Tom Greenwell said in a press release. “Our team on the farm is committed to sharing Kona’s coffee heritage and to keep Greenwell Farms as a top-of-mind Kona coffee farm experience for all coffee lovers.”
