James LuPiba

James “Jimmy” Blair LuPiba, 75, of Waikaloa, died May 10, 2018, at his home. Born in 1943, he was a scheduler for Continental Airlines and a tour bus driver for Polynesian Adventure Tours and Robert’s Tours.

A memorial service will be held at Mokuaikaua Congregational Church in Kailua-Kona on May 18 at 10 a.m. A scattering of his ashes at sea will be held in Kona Bay on Sunday, May 20 at 9 a.m. at the beachfront of Kamehameha Hotel.

He is survived by his wife, Trish Kahikina LuPiba; children, Pete (Jennifer) Shaw LuPiba, Jayne Singleton, Julie Cameron, Joan Wahlers, Jacque Sergeant, John Sergeant, Jeff Sergeant, Pualani Debbie Lee, and Yvonne Kahikina; siblings, William, Rex, Marilyn, Geraldine, Nani, and Lydia; 25 grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.

Stephen Kaheiki Jr.

Stephen “Bimbo” Moikeha Kaheiki, Jr., 61, of Keaukaha, died May 9 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired librarian at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Library and a longtime musician.

Friends may call 3:30–5 p.m. May 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; funeral service at 5, cremation to follow. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Millicent “Millie” Kaheiki of Hilo; daughters Kanani (Felise) Felise of Waimanalo, Krissey Lono of Hilo; hanai daughter, Namele (Skylee) Walker of Hilo; sisters, Lorene “Vini” (George) Kahao of Kentucky, Iwalani Kaheiki of Hilo, Melissa “Missy” (Alex) Kaheiki of California; 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Lorraine Pestano

Lorraine Kamaile Pestano, 83, of Ka’u, died on April 13, 2018 at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Pahala, she was a retired custodian for Kau High and Pahala Elementary School and she also was a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Friends may call on May 26 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church, visitation 8-9:30 a.m.; celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughters, Leanette (Berkeley) Yoshida and Diane (Laureno) Galban of Pahala, Annette (William) Mitchell of Ocean View and Brenda (Robert) Tupek of Utah; sons, Jarett Pestano and Kevin (Susan) Pestano of Pahala; brother in-law, Moses (Carmen) Pestano of Honolulu; sisters in-law, Juanita Chun of Honolulu and Shirley Buyuan of Pahala; numerous grandchildren and great grand-children; numerous, nieces and nephews.

Mildred Tsuyuko Uchima

Mildred “Millie” Tsuyuko Uchima, 89, of Hilo, died May 6, 2018, at her residence in Hilo. Born in Pepeekeo on Sept. 9, 1928, she was retired from the State of Hawaii as a teacher and librarian at Hilo Union School. She was a member of the Hawaii State Teachers Association (H.S.T.A.), Alpha Delta Kappa, Hui Okinawa, and Church of the Holy Cross and volunteered as a docent at the Pacific Tsunami Museum in Hilo.

Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo on May 26 from 3:30-5 p.m.; memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by sons, Lester (Roxana) Uchima of Hilo and Cory (Lynne) Uchima of Pukalani, Maui; sister, Amy Shiroma of Hilo; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Tane Love-Noguchi

Tane Renee Love-Noguchi, 62, of Waikoloa, died in Waikoloa. Born in Honolulu, she was a home maker.

She is survived by her husband Gary; son Remington Noguchi of Waikoloa; brother John S. (Eli) Smith Jr. of Molokai; sister Gigi Smith of Honolulu; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 10 a.m., at Kawaihae Canoe Club.
