Palani Road reopened following dump truck crash

KAILUA-KONA — Palani Road was closed for two hours Wednesday after a dump truck apparently struck a rock embankment makai of Konalani Street.

The crash, which occurred about 12:30 p.m., involved a dump truck that was traveling mauka on the road and apparently veered off the roadway and struck a rock embankment in the vicinity , according to the Hawaii Police Department. No other vehicles were involved in the crash located near the water tank below the Queen Liliuokalani Villages subdivision.

The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries.
