KAILUA-KONA — A storage facility caught fire Saturday night, the Hawaii Fire Department reported Sunday.
Three units were fully involved in fire and smoke when firefighters arrived shortly before 9:30 p.m. at Power Self Storage on Walua Road in Kailua-Kona.
The fire quickly spread to adjacent storage units, the department said in a press release. Two engine companies forced entry and attempted to extinguish approximately 10 affected storage units on the south side of building complex.
Two other engine companies also forced entry and attempted to put out the inflamed units from the north side of complex. After approximately four hours, the fire was brought under control.
A cause or damage estimate was not listed in the release.
