Andrew Carroll
Andrew David “Dave” Carroll, 78, of Naalehu, died April 22, 2018, at home. Born Nov. 16, 1939, in Hartford, Conn., he was a computer consultant. He was on the advisory board for the Village in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He was also a member of Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and O Ka’u Kakou.
A celebration of life will be 10 a.m. April 28 at the Naalehu United Methodist Church. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nepal Foundation, P.O. Box 654, Naalehu, Hawaii 96772.
He is survived by wife, Mary Carroll of Naalehu; daughter, Sherri (Curt) Oberg of West Lebanon, New Hampshire; son, Andy (Kim) Carroll of Denver; grandchildren, Ali Oberg, Eric Oberg, Drew Carroll and Jack Carroll.

Toshio Miyasato
Toshio Miyasato, 91, of Hilo died March 22, 2018, at home. He was born in Hilo and was a retired office worker with the former Hawaii Sugar Planters Association, member of the Hilo Hoogani Mission and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Private family services were held. No flowers, no koden.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Naoko Miyasato of Hilo; brothers, Stanley Miyasato of Oahu and Jackie (Ethel) Miyasato of Oahu; sisters, Eleanor Ulrich of Arizona and Pearl Hackbill of California; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorita Alidon
Lorita “Loretta” Daog Alidon, 96, of Waianae, and formerly of Mountain View, died April 9, 2018, at the Wahiawa General Hospital. She was born in Paauilo and was retired from the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. as a nut picker, also worked at the former Paramount Grill as a cook’s helper, and was a member of the Filipino Federation of America.
Friends may call 4-5 p.m. April 29 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. funeral service. Private family service and burial on April 30. Casual attire.
She is survived by her daughters, Julia Padayhag of Waianae, Lillian Cabansag of Waianae and Cris (Glenn) Hudman of Mountain View; sons, Richard (Viko Nguyen) Alidon of Hilo and Robert (Ehukai) Alidon of California; brother, Manuel Daog of Florida.; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 10+ great great grandchildren, numerous great great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Laurdis Erece
Laurdis P. Erece, 89, of Pahala, died April 5, 2018, at Kau Hospital. Born on Dec. 6, 1928, in Waihiawa, she was a retired hand harvester for the former Mauna Loa MacNut farms, a homemaker and a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 8-10 a.m. April 28 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Casual attire; flowers are welcomed, burial to follow at the Pahala Catholic Cemetery.

Josephine Jane Victorine, 99, of Pahoa, died on March 26, 2018, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and a child care provider.

Teresa Schlecht
Teresa Elizabeth Schlecht, 92, of Keauhou, died March 11, 2018, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Sept. 3, 1925 in Chickasha, Okla., she was a retired registered nurse and nurse anesthetist, a former operating room supervisor for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Baltimore, Md., and a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Church Building Fund.
She is survived by two nieces and numerous friends.

Katherine Sasaki
Katherine Yukie Sasaki, 76, of Kealakekua, died March 15, 2018 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Puunene, Maui on Dec. 5, 1941, she was an accountant for Dillingham Corporation and Sadaharu Tashima Accounting Services. She was a self-employed licensed massage therapist. She was a member of the Kona Okinawa Kenjinkai, Kainaliu Makai Kumi and the Honokohau-Kaloko Ukulele Group.
Services held at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity on Lako Street in Kailua-Kona.
She is survived by her husband, Baron Sasaki of Kealakekua; son, Mark Sasaki of Kealakekua; daughter Cheryl Sasaki of Kealakekua; brothers, Harold (Ellen) Kameya of Granada Hills, Calif., Andrew (Suzanne) Kameya of Irvine, Calif., Lawrence (Lynne Hensel) Kameya of Chicago, Ill., and Dennis (Joyce) Kameya of Walnut Creek, Calif.; two aunts, an uncle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
