Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Monday evening fire that partially damaged a home in Pahoa.
Hawaii Fire Department firefighters were sent to the home at 16-2149 Bamboo Drive at 5:31 p.m. When they arrived at 5:46 p.m., about 40 percent of the home was ablaze, according to a media release.
Fire officials said no one was home at the time of the fire, which was declared extinguished at 6:10 p.m.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the building of origin and no other homes were threatened.
