George Farias
George Farias, 72, of Hilo, died Feb. 22 at his children’s home in Pensacola, Fla. He was born in Honolulu and was a retired foreman with the County of Hawaii Department of Water Supply, a U.S. Army veteran, an avid fisherman, loved spending time with his family and friends, working on cars, and just going “holo holo.”
Visitation 8:30-10 a.m., March 13 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass, followed by burial at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen “Hanh” Young of Orlando, Fla. and Ginger Farias of Pensacola, Fla.; son, Guy Farias of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters, Janet Liebrecht of Riverside, Calif., Rose (Philip) Resurecion of Mt. View and Flora Temporal of Hilo; brothers, Tom Earl of Garden Grove, Calif., David Earl of Garden Grove, Calif., Jimmy Farias of Hilo and Joe (Alice) Farias of Hilo; cousin, Rodney Rezentes of Hilo; four grandchildren, Thomas Young, Kalena Young, Preston Young, and Kodi Farias; two great granddaughters, Ava Young and Lily Young; numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Murphy Joanes
Mr. Murphy Joanes, 61, of Ocean View, Hawaii, died Feb. 24, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Ujelang, Marshall Islands on Feb. 3, 1957, he was a Protestant reverend and a member of the Kona Kau Marshallese Church-Jarin Rarik Dron.
An all-night vigil will be start at 4 p.m. March 16, 2018, at Jonithen Jackson’s residence on Princess Kaiulani Blvd. in Ocean View. Visitation will continue at the residence at 10 a.m. March 17, followed by graveside services and burial at 3 p.m. at the Naalehu County Cemetery in Naalehu. The family requests causal attire.
He is survived by his wife, Netty Joanes of Ocean View; sons, Jamesbond Joanes, Jackton Joanes and Hilton Joanes, all of Ocean View and Peter Joanes of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Limina Joanes of Ocean View; brothers, Kosma (Selitha) Joanes of Marshall Islands, Kenson Joanes of Ocean View, Jebitka (Elsie) Ioanes and Levty Joanes, all of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Emily Joanes of Kealakekua, Linda (Ben) Wabol of Saipan, Miako (Benson) Gideon of Ocean View and Darling Ioanes of Kailua-Kona; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dwayne Mukai
Dwayne “Tang” Keiji Mukai, 62, of Keaau, died Feb. 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Paradise Beverages after 26 years of service, loved to fish and surf and was an advocate of organ donation.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. March 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a celebration of life at 5:30 p.m. Scattering of ashes at a later date. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Priscilla Mukai of Keaau; sons, Treven Mukai and Keegan Mukai of Keaau; brother, Bertram “Bert” Mukai of Hilo; sister, Colette “Coco” Mukai of Honolulu; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Lynn Moiré
Lynn Moiré, M.D., of Waikoloa, died March 1, 2018, with family by her side.
She was a pioneer of holistic medicine and a board-certified emergency physician for more than 30 years. She was also board certified in integrative medicine and was an expert diagnostician and toxicologist. She was also a strong advocate for the environment and loved the outdoors.
She is survived by daughters, Arielle and Laila; stepdaughters, Keirstin and Jessica; parents, Lillian and Ralph, siblings, Mike, Mark, and Viki; and husband, Mana.

Donna Butterworth
Donna Lee Butterworth, 62, of Hilo, died March 6 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Philadelphia, Penn. Private memorial and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
She is survived by mother, Isabella Chalfant of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, William T. Butterworth of Las Vegas, Nev.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Natalie “Natalia” Osborne, 42, of Pahoa, died March 3 at Hawaii Care Choices. Born in Chicago, Ill., she was a raw food chef.
