Blue skies and sunshine were the backdrop for the grand opening of Kohala Golf Park in Kapaau Feb. 10, celebrated with an open house and 1-Club 9-hole tournament open to the public. Located adjacent to Kamehameha Park, the original opening was rained out in December.

Forty-five people played in the first flight of the tournament Feb. 10, and 18 played in the second flight later that day. A total of 28 prizes were awarded, and player Jason Wells got a hole-in-one.
