Advanced Ukulele meets from 9:30—11 a.m. every Tuesday with Aunty Marjie Spencer, who welcomes experienced players of all ages to bring their ukulele and join in a morning of friendship and song.
Tutu’s House Writers’ Support Group is scheduled from 10 a.m.—noon each Tuesday. Interested persons are invited to join the gathering that includes everyone from new writers to published authors, and covers many genres: fiction, non-fiction, essays and poetry. Participants can bring a current piece to share with the group in an encouraging place to explore their writing voice.
Knitting &Knitting Support is from 12:30—3 p.m. each Tuesday with Gretchen Geisler, a lifetime knitter. This class is for all skill levels, ages 10 to adult. Bring projects, get knitting questions answered and visit with other knitters. Beginners will be guided into a suitable project.
Harmony for Health with Richard Adoradio, a local music instructor, will come together from 12:30-2 p.m. Jan. 27. Group singing strengthens the immune system, lowers stress and is a natural anti-depressant. Singing in harmony produces even greater benefits for not only mind and body, but also for building a well-bonded community. Richard leads this casual, family friendly group with his hands-on creative approach. Taking popular, feel-good songs and generating simple, easy to follow harmonies, he quickly gets the group out of their heads and into their hearts, resulting in a fun and revitalizing afternoon. No singing experience is necessary.
Yoga Basics with Janet Lam will be from 8—9 a.m. Jan. 29. Start the week feeling balanced, flexible and strong. This class includes fundamental yoga poses, and although not specifically a beginner’s class, the movement sequence can easily accommodate students new to yoga or returning to a yoga practice.
Tutu’s Quilters will gather from 9:30 a.m.-noon Jan. 29 with Kathy Lukens. This get-together is for experienced as well as curious beginners to learn and practice quilting Hawaiian style. Initial supplies are provided or participants can bring something they are working on.
Full Moon Gentle Yoga will be from 4-5 p.m. Jan. 31 with Danielle Kwami. This is a gentle, slow-flow yoga class to release what no longer serves us. Deep stretches will relax and calm mind, body and spirit, while utilizing the power of the full moon to help let go and lighten loads. It is appropriate for all experience levels from new to advanced.
