KAILUA-KONA — 2018 is shaping up to be big year for West Hawaii Today.
You’ve probably noticed the decal in the newspaper’s flag noting the milestone but if not, we’re celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. As we look back at our humble beginning as a weekly publication, we couldn’t be prouder of having served our community the last half century.
We’ll highlight the milestone this year with a number of stories heading into the big day — July 31 — but that won’t be the only addition this year.
West Hawaii Today has unveiled a new, sleeker website. Featuring a cleaner layout, we think you’ll like the easier-to-navigate site. Editors’ picks on the homepage at www.westhawaiitoday.com let you know what stories and opinions are shaping dialogue around the island. It’s also much more user friendly for people who pull it up on their cellphones and mobile devices.
We hope you enjoy as much as we already do. We think you will.
From all of us at West Hawaii Today, here’s to looking forward to the next 50 years.
I’m hoping it includes grammar and spell check.
Its being done out of India now!
No new attempts at political balance, of course.
No worries. It will remain a political arm for the Democrat party.
The new site is a jumbled mess and difficult to navigate. This is worse. Much worse.
Consider who owns it. Incompetence goes with the territory.
Where is the community calendar?
Get ready for the paywall. I will not pay for a left leaning local paper. I stopped home delivery since having it delivered since 2004 just because of that reason. Kailua-Kona is more right leaning but WHT has to walk in lock step with the papers owners. You own it you call the shots.
Let it turn into a leftist echo chamber, who cares? I will not pay a cent to a group trying to tear down America because it does not fit their ideal of a socialist utopia.
Pretty much an amateurish print edition of PMSNBC or CNN. Never came here to read anything (why would anyone?). Just making sure any low-info types that might read this crap knew that the liberals do not form the majority they seek to portray. Same reason i see people switching off CNN at my gym.
The usual leftist suspects can have a merry circle jerk among themselves.
Nice job, WHT. A big improvement from the older web format.
love it!
Your website is a mess…….especially toward the bottom. Can’t find a thing…….
Congratulations for coming up with a completely amateur looking, hideous website. It looks like one of those free blogging templates. I hate it. And your advertisers won’t like it either, I’m guessing.
That sure is an ugly 50th anniversary logo. Almost bad as the Chamber of Commerce.
Two days later – following the original “front page” leader that has not been displaced –
At least they are using good contrast colors for their text so it is legible. Rather than the faded gray most sites seem to be using.
