Margery Burroughs
Margery Hart Burroughs, 101, of Keaau and formerly of Honolulu, died Dec. 15, 2017, at a private care home. She was a homemaker.
Private services to take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl Cemetery) on Oahu at a later date.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra (Sam) Wallis of Hilo, Margery Mayo of Waimea; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.

Asayo Shirai
Mrs. Asayo Shirai, 92, of Keopuka Mauka, Kona, died Nov. 15, 2017, at her residence. Born in 1925 in Kapehu, North Hilo, she was a former macadamia nut sorter for the Kona Coffee Cooperative and Mrs. Field’s Cookies. She was a retired coffee farmer and a member of the Hanei Kumiai and Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or koden. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald Shirai of Captain Cook, and Lloyd (Lois) Shirai, Sr., of Kealakekua; daughters, Lynn Shirai (Brian) Tanimoto, and Janis Shirai of Hilo; sisters, Fumie Miyazu, Yoshie Saiki, and Emiko (George) Serikaku, all of Oahu; one sister-in-law; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
