Hale Ho’ola Hamakua in Honokaa is among nine skilled nursing facilities in Hawaii commended for achieving their goals in the American Health Care Association (AHCA) 2017 Quality Initiative Recognition Program.
AHCA is the national affiliate of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii, representing skilled nursing facilities and long-term care providers. The program is designed to recognize nursing center members that demonstrate the attainment of four or more of the AHCA Quality Initiative goals. The goals include decreasing turnover among nursing staff, safely reducing hospital readmissions, safely reducing the use of antipsychotic drugs and improving discharge back to the community.
They will be recognized at the AHCA/NCAL Quality Summit in New Orleans in March 2018.
