Arrests in Pahoa, Volcano
Several people are facing drug-related offenses following several search warrants in Puna, the Hawaii Police Department reported recently.
On Dec. 6, police searched a Pahoa home on Opakapaka Street. The search allegedly turned up drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested Marissa Burcena and Paul Alisa at the scene.
The two were charged the following day with two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and two counts of prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia. Burcena was released on bail after her initial court appearance. Alisa was being held in lieu of $20,500 bail as of Friday evening.
On Dec. 7, officers and detectives from the Vice Section executed an unrelated search at a home on Anuhea Street in Volcano, where they reportedly found 1.2 grams of black tar heroin, a small amount of crystal methamphetamine and some drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested Charles Deguair of Volcano at the scene.
On Dec. 8, Deguair was charged with three counts of third degree promotion a dangerous drug and three counts of prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia. As of Friday evening, he was being held at the Hilo cellblock in lieu of $6,075 bail pending his initial court appearance.
Puna couple arrested
Police arrested a man and woman Thursday in Hawaiian Paradise Park. When police and detectives with the Vice Section searched a residence, police reportedly recovered marijuana plants, dried processed marijuana and “numerous pieces of equipment used to cultivate and process marijuana,” according to a police statement. Police arrested Shelton Pacarro and Precious Dela Cruz.
Friday afternoon, Pacarro was charged with first-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, second-degree commercial promotion of marijuana and two counts of prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia. Pacarro was released after posting $7,050 bail, police said. Dela Cruz was released pending additional investigation.
