WAIKOLOA RESORT — Kings’ Shops is proud to partner with North Hawaii Community Hospital (NHCH) Dec. 9 for the second annual “Fashion for the Fight,” a fashion show featuring cancer survivors and caregivers from NHCH’s Cancer Center.
The idea was born at King’s Shops.
“We wanted to host a fashion show with a purpose,” Lynn Rostau said, the shopping center’s general manager. “Unfortunately, cancer touches almost everyone either directly or indirectly so it was a natural choice to support NHCH Cancer Center. For me personally, I lost my mom to cancer and my husband was recently diagnosed. This event is near and dear to my heart.”
The public event will begin at 5 p.m. Dec. 9 on the Kings’ Shops stage. All proceeds will go to NHCH’s Cancer Center. Select stores will offer special holiday shopping incentives after the show.
“Last year was a learning curve and we raised about $3,000,” Rostau said. “We are selling 75 tickets this year. We’ve had great response and I believe that year after year the event will grow and grow.”
VIP tickets are $40, including special reserved VIP seating, select offers from Kings’ Shops stores and restaurants, and special pupu and beverages served during the show. They can be purchased by calling Julia Ramos of NHCH at 881-4420.
