Tutu’s Quilters meets every Monday from 9:30 a.m.—noon, led by Kathy Lukens. This get-together is open to everyone from experienced to beginners as a chance to learn and practice quilting Hawaiian style. Initial supplies are provided or participants can bring something they are working on. Good company and encouragement are guaranteed.
Overeaters Anonymous is held from noon-1 p.m. each Friday. OA is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors. OA welcomes anyone who wishes to stop eating compulsively.
Scrabble Meetup gathers from 1:30-4 p.m. every Friday with Annabel Spielman. Word lovers of every age and skill level are encouraged to play this classic game, with relaxed rules. Dictionary use is permitted. It’s a great way to retain and expand vocabulary, spelling, memory and observation skills in a congenial atmosphere.
Busy Bees Yoga will be offered from 4-5 p.m. Nov. 30 by Melinda Polet, RMT. With a background in music, dance, gymnastics and drama, Melinda sees life as a spiritual journey and enjoys exploring self-expression. This is an opportunity for moms, including pregnant women, to experience stretching and moving together with their babies between the ages of six weeks and 6-year-olds. Participants will learn Yin yoga, a tradition based on longer held poses to open the female channels in the body, as well as stretches suitable for pregnancy and post-birth.
Family Science Night at Earl’s Garage will be held at 5:30 pm Dec. 1, hosted by Katherine DuBose-Oliver. Family members of all ages are guided in an opportunity to work together and spend time exploring hands on activities. Everything is provided, including food and supplies. Registration is required, and space is limited. Call Katherine at 885-6777 by Nov. 29 to reserve space.
Note: Tutu’s House will be closed this Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving. No activities will be offered Saturday.
