Now through Jan. 6, the miniature hand-crafted village celebrates the spirit of the holiday season at Isaacs Art Center in Waimea. Toy stores, markets, fruit and vegetable stands, art and candy shops are “peopled” with tiny wooden mice scurrying to take flight as the reindeer on Santa’s sleigh. The Christmas panorama reflects the imagination and talent of beloved island painter and rancher Martha Greenwell. Artifacts featured in the display were assembled over eight years from the attic and tool shed of Greenwell’s Palani Ranch.
