KOHALA COAST — This Saturday, residents and visitors can trot 5K around Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii for the annual Food Basket, Inc. — Hawaii Island’s Food Bank benefit. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., with the trot commencing at 8 a.m.

KOHALA COAST — This Saturday, residents and visitors can trot 5K around Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii for the annual Food Basket, Inc. — Hawaii Island’s Food Bank benefit. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., with the trot commencing at 8 a.m.

The course will start and end at Turtle Pointe, an expansive lawn located on resort grounds and wind its way through Mauna Lani Resort. Afterwards, participants will receive complimentary “After Trot” refreshments including mimosas and Bloody Mary cocktails along with coffee, fresh fruit and pastries sponsored by Ocean Vodka, Kenwood Yulupa, Paradise Coffee, Armstrong Produce and Suisan.

“We are honored to be the beneficiary of such a great event, and are looking forward to raising money for those in need, especially during this holiday season,” shared Jamilia Epping, director of public relations and events for The Food Basket.

Registration is $35 for adults, $25 for keiki 12-18 and complimentary for keiki under 12.
