Wendell Serrao

Wendell David Serrao, 76, of Hilo, died Oct. 5, 2017, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired tax collector with the state Department of Taxation, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, member of the supervisory committee of the HFS Federal Credit Union, and a financial secretary for both the Young Men’s Institute (YMI), and the Ancient Order of Foresters, Court Mauna Kea No. 8854.

Friends may call at 8-9:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Urn committal services to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Erlinda Serrao of Hilo; son, Jonathan (Sherry) Villena of Hilo; daughter, Wendi Serrao (Christopher) Villa of Volcano; brother, Norbert (Erma) Serrao of Pahoa; three grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Charles Bauguess

Charles L. Bauguess Jr., 64, of Mountain View, died Oct. 2, 2017. He was born on March 17, 1953, on Oahu.

Celebration of life is at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 by the Pohoiki pier.

He is survived by sons, Charles Bauguess III and Jason Bauguess; daughter, Mindy Bauguess; brothers, Louie (Nina) Bauguess and Richard Bauguess; sister, Paulina Bauguess; and six grandchildren.
