Tsuyuno Watanabe
Mrs. Tsuyuno Watanabe, 99, of Paauhau, died Aug. 23, 2017, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born April 17, 1918, in Hilo, she was a homemaker.
Private services held. No flowers, no koden.
She is survived by son, Stanley (Myrna) Watanabe of Hilo; daughters, Arlene (David) Pullen of Sacramento, Calif., Marilyn (James) Kamiya of Honolulu and Renee (Richard) Scudder of Honolulu; sister, Tsuyuko Tanaka of Honokaa; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Aiko Okui, 98, of Hilo, died at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center Sept. 7, 2017. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons, Harvey E. Okui of San Diego, Craig S. (Rheda) Okui of Hilo and Garret M. (Hyonchu) Okui of Hilo; brother, Richard (Hanae) Nishioka of California; sisters, Teruko Matsunaga of Hilo, Takeko Ide of Hilo; two grandchildren, one great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Martin Dobbe
Mr. Martin Irvin Dobbe, 58, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 28, 2017, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born Aug. 22, 1959, in Hilo, he was a journeyman form carpenter.

He is survived by mother, Alberta Cinco Dobbe of Hilo; sisters, Donna Dobbe-Leddy of Dayton, Ohio, and Marsha (Bob) Okajima of Hilo; hanai sister, Linda Dobbe Schuetz of Mundelein, Ill.; one nephew; one niece.

Tadayuki Ogawara
Tadayuki “Ted” Ogawara, 66, of Pahoa, died Sept. 12, 2017, at his home. Born in Tokyo, Japan, he worked at GSI Creos and loved traveling, cars and driving, science fiction and comedy.

He is survived by wife, Mariko Ogawara; daughters, Mika (Sandor) Toreki, Chika Ogawara; mother, Ayako Ogawara; brother, Hitoshi Ogawara; two granddaughters, Alana and Liana; many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Richard Tokuo Tao, 80, of Hilo, died Sept. 10, 2017, in Hilo. BornNov. 4, 1936, in Pahoa he was a retired diesel mechanic.

Josephine Grace, 80, of Keaau, died Sept. 16, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on April 27, 1937, in Wahiawa, she was a retired sales clerk for the former Kilauea Preserve Center and a former cashier and tutor at Pahoa High School.

Masae Horiuchi
Mrs. Masae K. “Peggy” Horiuchi, 91, of Keaau, died Sept. 12, 2017, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born Sept. 14, 1925, in Keaau, she was retired from the United States postal system as a postal clerk at the Keaau post office. She was a member of the Keaau Village Association, Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Hui Okinawa.

She is survived by son, Sam Horiuchi of Keaau; sisters, Betty Matsumoto of Honolulu, Natsuko Uehara of Mountain View and Jane (Edward) Imamura of Aiea; sister-in-law; numerous nephews and nieces.

Locardia Gouiveia
Locardia Makaiwa Hanoa Gouiveia, 74, of Hilo, died Sept. 15, 2017, at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Nov. 8, 1942, in Ka’u, she was a retired heavy equipment operator for Mauna Loa Mac Nut Farm in Ka’u.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Ka’u Ward) in Naalehu for an 11 a.m. funeral service. Casual attire; cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory.
She is survived by son, Frank M. Gouveia, Jr. of Kona; daughter, Jennifer N. Kimiyo Ohta, 93, of Halaula (Kohala), died Sept. 29, 2017, at home. Born in Mountain View, she was a seamstress, homemaker, and member of Kohala Jodo Mission Kyodan and Fujinkai and Kohala Senior Citizens Club.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Oct. 14 at Kohala Jodo Mission in Kapaau for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Alton (Snow Stoltz) Ohta of San Gabriel, Calif., Wayne Ohta of Halaula; daughters, Arlene Ohta, Joy Ohta of Gardena, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Florencio Gonzales
Florencio Domingo Gonzales, 75, of Papaikou, died Sept. 13, 2017, at Avalon Home Care in Honolulu. Born on Sept. 14, 1941, in Laoag, Philippines, he was a retired tomato farm worker in Kamuela and also a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Oct. 14, 2017, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service begins at 7 p.m. Casual attire and no flowers. Final services and committal will be held in the Philippines at later date in Laoag City, Philippines.
He is survived by wife, Dominga Gonzales of Papaikou; daughters, Marissa (Felipe) Vinoya of Papaikou and Annabelle Gonzales (Danny) Tolentino of Philippines; sons, Roberto (Jobeth) Gonzales and Crisanto (Maricon) Gonzales of Papaikou; daughter in-law; nine grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Juliana Torres Harrison, 74, of Papaikou, died Sept. 20, 2017, in Hilo. Born Oct. 31, 1942, in Kohala, she worked for Hewlett Packard on the mainland.
