Shame on all of us
“Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.”
Samuel Johnson’s words have rarely been so prescient. Trump’s pandering to an Alabama audience, a number of whom still refer to the Civil War as the War of Northern Aggression, was despicable.
The president wrapping himself in the flag is misdirection at its best and lightly veiled racism at its worst. In his mercurial and pernicious rabble rousing, he has promulgated some of the darkest tendencies of the human spirit. More like: Make America hate again.
Shame on all of us for allowing a man of such reprehensible character to ascend to the highest office in the land.

Water warnings prevent disaster
I think it is fair to alert the people who face water shutoffs due to our well crisis that as soon as you open a faucet or flush a toilet and introduce air into your system you may end up burning up the pump that circulates the water in your solar hot water system.
These pumps are not meant to run dry. Some rooftop solar systems don’t use a pump, but if the water in their storage tank gets too low, the backup heating element will burn out.
I wonder if the water department is aware of this?

Don’t blindly go along for this ride
The recent Vietnam documentary showed a protest placard that immediately joined that war and our present group in the White House: Obey, obey, don’t think.
As with the Vietnam War, I can find not one thing in Trump’s agenda that makes any sense.
He mocks us with his lack of truth with splattering of hate and racism. We all know his platform as he dismantles our environment and allows pollution and climate change to continue. The biggest swamp in sight is his wrecking crew followers. In his headlong race to disrespect Obama, he would and is trying to deny healthy care to those who really need it.
So to those who back this blunder bus, I say I don’t buy into any of it. Obey, obey, don’t think.
