Kings’ Shops hosting Cultural Festival Oct. 7
The free, family-friendly event will begin with a blessing ceremony by the Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hamakua at 10 a.m., followed by petroglyph tours, lei making, hula lessons and beginner ukulele lessons until 4 p.m.
Entertainment will include Josh Tatofi, Pomaika’i Lyman Keawe and the legendary Led Kaapana performing at center stage. Tents throughout the center will also show demonstrations about the taro plant, poi pounding and the process of kapa making with presentations by Hawaiian Cultural Center of Hamakua, Hawaii Wildlife Center and Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative.
