The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School was recently awarded the Department of Agriculture’s Hawaii Farm to School Program accolade. It showcased the Mala’ai team’s tremendous work laying the foundation for strong F2S connections with the aina, keiki and cultures of their community.
One of the students’ new focuses is Malaai’s Ai Pono Project, supporting the next voyage of Makalii to the Northwest Hawaiian Islands in 2019 with coordinated growing, preserving and sharing ai pono.
