The Kohala Community Athletic Association currently has registration open for youth volleyball. Registration last through Sept. 27 for kids grades 4-8. Practice starts in October with games running mid-October through the end of November. For more information contact Tom at 345-0706
West side Hawaii Little League meeting
The annual membership meeting and Board of Directors Election for 2018 West Side Hawaii Little League Baseball Season will take place Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. at Umekes Restaurant.
Members include any volunteer who has completed a background check for the 2017 season and completed an entire season with a team. All volunteer Board Of Directors positions are available for nomination from the members list.
Tante’s Kokua Golf Tournament and Food Fest
The inaugural Tante’s Kokua Golf Tournament and Food Fest will be held on Oct. 7 with a shot gun start at 8 a.m. at the Kona Country Club.
Entry fee is $120 per player and includes golf, entry to Food Fest and lot’s of prizes.
Proceeds will go to fund the foundation’s scholarship program and provide financial assistance to intellectually gifted and talented students.
There will be a million dollar hole-in-one challenge and a hole-in-one car giveaway sponsored by Big Island Honda. There will also be a drawings for a round trip ticket to the Philippines courtesy of Philippines Airlines and much more.

Learn to racewalk
Free racewalking clinics will be held at Old Airport Park’s Makaeo Walking Path on Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. The lessons are provided by Stan Chraminski. For more information email stanski@twc.com.

BISA benefit golf tourney sponsorship opportunities
Sponsorships are currently available for the Big Island Sports Academy benefit golf tournament on Nov. 13 at Big Island Country Club. Tournament sponsorship is available for $2,500 and includes title sponsor, on course signage, special media recognition and a foursome.
Also available are BBQ sponsorship and awards luncheon, tee and hole sponsorships and foursome sponsorships. Player packages are $150 and include tournament entry, cart, continental breakfast, driving range, course refreshments, player gift and BBQ luncheon. Also available is a BBQ guest package for $25.
