Doris Burke

Doris A. Burke, 69, of Pahoa, died Aug. 9, 2017, at her residence. She was born Sept. 19, 1947.

A celebration of life will be held Sept. 19 at the family home.

She is survived by son, Hayden (Britney) Burke of California; daughter, Dawn Burke of California; brothers, Carl Block and David Block; sisters, Carol Rodgers, Janice Hegg and Cece Pazden; and two grandchildren, Cassidy Burke and Caidence Burke.

Charles Wood

Charles “CJ” John Wood, 78, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 14, 2017, at his residence. Born Oct. 19, 1938, in San Diego, he was a retired biology technician for EPMU#6, a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a Navy hospital corpsman with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Private service to be held.

He is survived by wife, Helen Aji Wood of Kailua-Kona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Yong Mi Omiya

Yong Mi Omiya, 68, of Waikoloa, died Sept. 6, 2017, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. She was born June 20, 1949, in Seoul, Korea.

Private services.

She is survived by husband, Kenneth Omiya, of Waikoloa.
