The Constitution was signed by 39 delegates to the Constitutional Congress on Sept. 17, 1787. The Constitution consists of seven articles and 27 amendments. In 1955, at the request of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Congress proclaimed Sept. 17-23 to be know as Constitution Week.
There are two famous documents that have shaped our great nation; The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution is the “Law of the Land” and is the most influential and oldest governing document in the World.
