Florentino Naboa

Florentino Nagal Naboa, 79, of Hilo, died Aug. 18, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 9, 1937, in Agno Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired Ka’u Sugar Plantation seed cutter and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company nut picker and irrigation worker, and member of the Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may call again at 8 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. burial at Alae Cemetery (New Section). Casual attire; flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Loreto Naboa of Hilo; daughter, Aida Naboa of Hilo; son, Arnel (Serina Riveira) Naboa of Hilo; brother, Isidro Naboa of Philippines; sister, Teresita Naranga of Philippines; seven grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Eufemia Ragpala

Eufemia Almoite Ragpala, 72, of Honokaa, died Sept. 1, 2017, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born July 17, 1945, in Bacnotan La Union, Philippines, she was a retired waitress for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa

Friends may call at 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 6 p.m. Mass. Cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Leonardo Ragpala of Honokaa; daughters, Marita Ragpala and Leenelle (Uelese) Pola of Honokaa; sons, Elmer (Cheri) Ragpala of Honokaa and Donel (Shady) Ragpala of Washington; sister, Mina Revilla of Philippines; 12 grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts.

Martha Lazarus

Martha Leimakalehua Karratti Lazarus, 95, of Waimea, died Sept. 7, 2017, at her home. Born May 10, 1922, she was a cook and homemaker.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea for a 5 p.m. service.

She is survived by daughters, Paula (Angelo) Goyco of Gardena, California, and Eunice Lazarus of Waimea; hanai daughter, Lani Olsen-Chong of Waimea; sisters, Lorita Webster of Red Hook, New York, and Myrna Evans of Honokaa; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clifford Higa

Clifford “Bull” Ichiro Higa, 65, of Pepeekeo, died Aug. 16, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 10, 1952, in Hilo, he was employed as a Business Development Manager for Safety Systems and Signs Hawaii and member of the General Contractors Association and the Building Industry Association.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Cremation to follow. Casual attire; no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Enerma Higa of Pepeekeo; sister, Corinne (Ronald) Tamashiro of Hilo; and uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
