Ernest Jackson
Ernest James Jackson, 39, of Pahoa, died Aug. 24, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hammond, Louisiana, he was the owner of Full Spectrum Home Improvements.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the Kalani Honua EMAx Building (12-6860 Kalapana-Kapoho Road) for a service to be followed by a lantern send-off on the Seaview Lawn.
He is survived by wife, Jennifer Jackson, of Pahoa; sons, Jamar Jackson and Tristan Jackson, both of Pahoa; daughter, Amora Jackson, of Pahoa; mother, Alean (Salvador Mosley) Jackson, of Florida; sisters, Joeanna Jackson, Miranda Mosley and Mildred Mosley, all of Florida; brothers, Willie Jackson, Derrick Jackson and Errick Jackson, all of Florida; mothers of his sons, Ruby Lang, of Florida, and Jennifer Mydock, of Hawaii; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Karl Van Ventura
Karl Van Ventura, 59, of Ocean View, died July 26, 2017, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1957, in Hilo, he was an self employed ASE certified auto body collision technician/painter, worked for LOMAX, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. on Sept. 2 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa for a 1 p.m. service. Casual attire, flowers welcome.
He is survived by wife, Tammy Ventura, of Ocean View; son, Wasen Van Ventura, of California; daughters, Jeremie Ventura-Correa, of Hilo, and Desiree (Chris Prados) Ventura-Alu, of Ocean View; daughters, Hakunani (Blake Baraoidan) Anakalea and Vanda Ventura, all of Kailua-Kona; mother, Loretta Johnston, of Ocean View; sisters, Robyn Ventura, of Ocean View, and LoriJoe Ventura, of Texas; 13 grandchildren; stepsons, Hailama Anakalea III, of Honalo, and Brandin (Mahealani) Anakalea of Kailua-Kona.
