Legislative workshop coming to Waimea Sept. 12

Staff from Public Access Room, a division of the state’s Legislative Reference Bureau, will visit Waimea to teach the legislative process in the state and how to get involved from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 12 at Thelma Parker Memorial Library.

Topics covered in the free workshop will include understanding the legislative process, deadlines and power dynamics; tips and techniques on effective lobbying, testifying and communicating with senators and representatives; and how-to guides, informational handouts and other resources.
