Mahalo for North Hawaii News coverage of Miki Kato
I just love this section (North Hawaii News) of the paper and today’s (Friday’s) really hit the top for me with an article by Liz Nakayama titled, “Hanging up his cowboy hat.”
This man, Miki Kato was honored as a veteran paniplo and as great as one can be. I have to look a little further back because the history behind this man definitely made him this way. His father back in the early 1900s, Isoo Kato had made such an imprint on this man. A quiet man from a quiet family but so many years ahead of everybody. He was instrumental to creating our club 50 years ago plus many other accomplishments in Kona.
History is what makes things last a longtime.
I am so glad that Miki was so honored and hope the retirement years will give him much pleasure of his work well done. You have definitely earned a special space on this planet and on top of that, kind of filled your dad’s spot so fully.
Congratulations! So great news!
