WAIMEA — More than 50 alumni, former faculty and current employees gathered for Parker School’s alumni reunion Aug. 6. Graduates and families from the class of 1984 through the class of 2016 came together to tour the school, reminisce through past yearbooks and catch up with one another on the school’s front porch.
The class of 2007 unearthed the time capsule they buried just before they graduated. Afterward, there was a hosted reception at The Fish and The Hog.
Theodora Akau Gasper from the class of 1987 wrote, “I’m a proud graduate of Parker School and can wholeheartedly say that my formidable years were at Parker. From all my teachers to my coaches to all the support staff along with my parent’s guidance, I am who I am today because of Parker.”
Parker School Advancement Director, Jonathan Vedelli, said of the event, “This was a great way to start the new school year — reconnecting with our past — and we look forward to some exciting new enhancements to our alumni events in the future. We are planning a more robust alumni weekend later this year and will be establishing regional alumni chapters to connect with more of our Parker graduates.”
The next Parker alumni weekend in Waimea will be June 2 and 3.
