Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Post 1212, plans the following activities this week:
Friday’s $5 meal will be pasta, salad and dessert from 5-7 p.m. The community is welcome to join.
The VFW will have its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The post is located behind Kona Locksmith, off Kaiwi Street.

Soroptimists meet Tuesday
Soroptimist International of Kona will meet from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday at West Hawaii Community Health Center conference room.

Seniors to meet
The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Hale Halawai.
Guest speaker is Tami MacAller from the Hawaii Public Health Institute. Her talk will focus on general nutrition for seniors. Plan to attend this important meeting.

Business Action Center Day planned
The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs will host a “Business Action Center Day” on Thursday in Kailua-Kona.
Hawaii County Department of Research and Development staff will be available for primary business consultations and the DCCA will be available to assist with Hawaii State business registrations, General Excise Tax applications, Federal Employer Identification Numbers (FEIN) and other business filings from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the West Hawaii Civic Center. Other information, such as government requirements pertaining to your industry/business, will be available to small businesses.
