Anuenue Playground will present information on their October Build Event at this meeting from 10—11 a.m. on Aug. 2. Whether you helped build the original Anuenue in 1990-91, or want to be part of its renovation, join in the conversation, Q&A and learn more about the rescue and rebuild planned, and how to be a part of the renewal and rebirth of our beloved community playground.
Caregiving Conversations will meet from 11 a.m.—noon Aug. 2 with professional caregiver Karyn Clay. Caregivers by heart, hire or relationship can join fellow caregivers in sharing stories, support and inspiration.
Embodying Mindfulness will gather from 5:30—7 p.m. Aug. 3 with international teacher Ann Marie Wright. The key to being present is when the mind, body and spirit are connected and grounded in awareness. Together the group will co-create conscious community as they nurture their hearts, listen to inner guidance and access true power. Through guided meditation and experiential techniques, stress and anxiety dissolves; to fully open to a state of peacefulness and relaxation.
Yoga Basics with Janet Lam meets from 8—9 a.m. every Monday. Start the week feeling balanced, flexible and strong. This class includes fundamental yoga poses, and although not specifically a beginner’s class, the movement sequence can easily accommodate students new to yoga or returning to a yoga practice.
Tutu’s Quilters is from 9:30 a.m.—noon every Monday with Kathy Lukens. The get together is for beginners and experienced to learn quilting Hawaiian style. Initial supplies are provided or participants can bring something to work on.
Chair Tai–Chi Kung with Cathleen Rickard is held from 1:30—2:30 p.m. every Monday. Enjoy simple hand and leg movements, postures and gentle deep breathing techniques while remaining seated in a chair. This movement series emphasizes flow of internal energy to improve organ function, range of motion, blood pressure balance and over all physical and mental well-being. This class works well for seniors, physically challenged persons and folks recovering from surgeries or living with injuries.
