Waimea Relay for Life fundraiser coming up
The public event will begin at noon July 22 at Waimea Park and continue until 10 p.m. A series of team activities include camping out at the park with the goal of keeping at least one team member walking around a track at all times. The purpose is to remind the public that cancers never sleep.
This year’s theme is “Paniolo Country Fair,”a tribute to Waimea’s ranching history. The goal is to have 25 teams that secure pledges and donations totaling $40,000 to be used by the American Cancer Society to impact the lives of those touched by cancer within the community.
