Marguerite Ferreira
Marguerite I. Ferreira, 93, of Hilo and Kailua-Kona died May 12, 2017, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born June 26, 1923, in Waipunalei, she was a retired telephone operator for Hawaiian Telephone Co. and a kitchen helper at St. Joseph’s Catholic school cafeteria. She was a member of YMI Ladies Auxiliary, Piihonua Houselots Kumiai, Portuguese Culture Club, UEFCE Hoike Club and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. July 14 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hilo with a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. The family requests aloha attire and flowers are welcome.
She is survived by daughter, Stephanie Wehrsig of Kailua-Kona; sons, Wilbert (Linda) Ferreira of Anchorage, Alaska, Wayland (Jean) Ferreira of Skagway, Alaska, and Nathan (Dottie) Ferreira of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Richard (Irene) Igancio of Honokaa, Jacob (Elsie) Ignacio of San Jose, Calif., and Kenneth Ignacio of Rhode Island; sister, Evelyn Gates of Oakland, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Aaron Demello
Aaron Thomas Demello, 30, of Hilo died June 9, 2017, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born April 7, 1981, on Maui, he was a Kirby Franchise owner in Hawaii.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-8 p.m. July 11 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary in Kaneohe, Oahu. Condolences may be posted at ballardfamilymortuaries.com.
He is survived by grandmother, Else Demello; father, Adrian Demello Jr.; mother, Valerie Demello; brothers, Adrian (Melanie) Demello III, Michael Demello; nieces, one nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Benedict Kelepolo
Benedict Kelepolo, 71, of Captain Cook died June 2, 2017, at home. Born in South Kona, Honaunau, he was a former laborer for various construction companies in Kona. He was also a coffee farmer and fisherman.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. July 15 at St. Benedict’s Church lot in Honaunau for a 10 a.m. celebration of life. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
He is survived by brothers, Wilfred and Matthew Kelepolo, both of Oahu; sisters, Hilda Poe of Oregon, Hazel Juanich of Kailua-Kona, Lurline (George) Kina of Mountan View; hanai sister, Ola Texeira of Ocean View; hanai children, Diana (Gary) Nagano, Stephanie (Paul) Armitage, Rose (Glen) Kekoa, Wella (Robin) Delo Santos, Debra (Mark) Dumaguin, Jolene (Floyd Jr.) Kahalioumi, all of Captain Cook, Leialoha Cooper of Tennessee, Cindy (Marvin) Terewaki of Maryland, and Melanie (Cy) Nakamoto of Kainaliu; numerous hanai grandchildren; hanai great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alice Harriet Kahoohulimoku Upchurch Yap, 85, of Kahului, Maui died May 27, 2017, at the Maui Medical Center. Born July 10, 1932, in Honolulu, she was a senior clerk for Oahu Plumbing and Sheet Metal Inc., in Honolulu and on Maui.
Visitation is at 8:30 a.m. July 15 at New Hope Oahu on Sand Island Access Roard in Honolulu with a 9:30 a.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire worn and flowers be omitted.
She is survived by son, Richard (Sandra) Goles Jr., of Waipahu, Oahu; daughters, Rosalind Canite of Kailua-Kona, and Bernadette Knight of Kahului, Maui; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; brother, James (Son-ok Yi) Upchurch Jr., of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Esther Ann Nahinu Domingues, 89, of Hawi died June 21, 2017, at the Kohala Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Laie-wai, Oahu she was a retired hostess at the Crouching Lion Inn Restaurant in Kaaawa, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward.
Visitation will be held at 9 am July 18 at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel in Kaneohe, Oahu. Funeral service will be from 10-11 a.m. Entombment will be at Valley of the Temples Mausoleum at 1 p.m. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.
She is survived by daughters Brenda Midel of Ewa Beach, Oahu, Udell Colleado of Hawi, and Charmaine Kahala of Kahana Valley, Oahu; son, Nelson (Neng) Domingues of Kailua-Kona; brother, Charles Mahoe Kaaukai of Nanakuli Homestead, Oahu; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Janet Tatsuko Kurisu, 88, of Hilo died June 21, 2017, in Hilo. Born in Hakalau, she was retired from the county of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gift or flowers.
She is survived by sons, Hervy (Lila) Kurisu of Mililani, Oahu, Derek (Georganne) Kurisu of Hilo, Duane (Susan) Kurisu of Honolulu; daughters, Ardis (Bill) Kaono and Alyn (James) Ishii of Hilo; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
