Political cartoon was a lie
I’m sorry but I just don’t understand it. Today’s political satire cartoon. It just isn’t funny, satirical, or anything. Here is the weeping donkey (Democrats symbol) using a Pinocchio-like Chuck Schumer with a long nose as thebow. This would suggest that Schumer was lying in his response to the Republican Health Care Bill. OK, I justdon’t get it. Everything Chuck Schumer stated was correct. The Affordable Care Act was debated for over 120hours, got over 100 amendments by the Republicans. Compared to zero hours of discussion, closed door secretsessions, and zero amendments by Democrats and Schumer is the bad guy? This kind of slanted media is justwhat is wrong with things today. First the depiction is totally false. Second, it is not satire. Third, it isn’t funny.Fourth, it isn’t thought provoking. I always felt the newspapers had a responsibility to print only things thatexpressed the truth. It doesn’t always have to be something that everyone agrees upon. But the standard of truthmust not be overlooked and this Mike Shelton cartoon is a total lie. West Hawaii Today is remiss in it responsibilityto seek the truth and inform its readers.
