Green Party of Hawaii meets Saturday
The Green Party of Hawaii will hold its annual meeting on Saturday at the Kona Elks Cub.
Attendees of the 11 a.m. meet and greet will learn about the Green Party. A potluck meal will follow. Then a formal business meeting will take place at 2 p.m. for the election of officers and delegates to the national party.
Cancer support group meets
The Kona Community Hospital Cancer Support Group holds its monthly meeting from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kona Community Hospital’s Administration Building in the first floor conference room 2.
Guest speakers Scott Moon, radiation oncologist and Preston Sult, RN, chemotherapy and infusion patient educator, will discuss side effects and their prevention.
The community-based support group helps patients cope with the emotional aspects of cancer by providing a safe place to share feelings and challenges.

Pilates instructor speaks at Brain Injury Support group
The Brain Injury Support group meets from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawaiian Rehab Services, mauka of the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union on Hualalai Road.
Pilates instructor Anna Vigale will give a talk titled, “Breathing, exercise and stress relief.”
Vigale’s past career was a stressful corporate position in New York and San Francisco. She also struggled with chronic pain from sport related injuries. She found Pilates helped with both. She was trained by Kona Pilates, and she just opened her own studio, Wave Pilates at Pottery Terrace.

mount orchids
The Kona Daifukuji Orchid Club offers an orchid mounting demonstration led by Phoenicia Zeller at its meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Daifukuji Soto Mission Hall.
Admission is free and the meeting is open to those interested in orchids.

The Kona Daifukuji Orchid Club is West Hawaii’s oldest orchidaceae organization with a mission to learn and foster orchid culture and promote fellowship among orchid collectors. The club meets the second Wednesday of every month.
Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona meets
Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Makalei Golf Club, 72-3890 Hawaii Belt Road, Kailua-Kona, 325-6625.
All visiting and prospective members are invited. The speaker will be Jim Kilgore, executive director of Full Life.
Kiwanis looks to serve the community by conducting service projects that respond to identified needs, especially related to children.

Real Estate Commission convenes in Kona
The Real Estate Commission will convene its standing committee meetings Wednesday at the West Hawaii Association of Realtors at 75-5995 Kuakini Highway, Suite 221, Kailua-Kona.
The Laws and Rules Review Committee meeting will convene at 10:30 a.m., and will be followed by the Condominium Review Committee meeting and the Education Review Committee meeting.
Real estate licensees, government officials, members of the condominium community, educators, and interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate at these public meetings. The committees invite comments and recommendations on current and future programs.
Concurrently, a real estate specialist and a condominium specialist will be available for individual meetings between 10:30 a.m. and noon or by appointment.
