Salvation Army celebrates donut day
The Salvation Army’s donut day will be celebrated Friday throughout Hawaii.
The event commemorates 100 years since The Salvation Army donut lassies first began serving donuts to soldiers on the front lines of World War I in France.
On Hawaii Island, customers of Salvation Army thrift stores will receive a free donut and coffee from 10 a.m. to noon, while supplies last. There will also be a 25 percent discount on all thrift store items except furniture, all day.
