VFW dinner, meetings planned

The VFW, 74-5543 Kaiwi St., Suite 185A, will host a dinner from 5-7 p.m. today.

Spaghetti, salad and dessert will be served for $5, cash only. Everyone is welcome.

Also, the Auxiliary of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 12122, will hold its monthly meeting from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The Auxiliary meeting will be followed by the monthly post meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All veterans are welcome.

Chamber networking event coming up

The public is invited to the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce’s networking event, AfterHours, hosted by Pacific Boats &Yachts, Dolphin Journeys and Goose’s Edge 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Small Boat Harbor.

Learn about the marina’s business community and West Hawaii’s ocean recreation industry. Attendees can watch the sunset, enjoy pupu and drinks.

The chamber’s monthly pau hana, which meets every third Wednesday of the month, is a networking event affording attendees the chance to link with others in the local business community, network with and meet new members and exchange business cards.

Seniors learn about home safety

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai.

Officer Pukani will speak about home safety. A question and answer session will follow. Remember to bring canned food.
