Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, in association with Hoku Concert Series, presents Ultimi: Three Tenors Wednesday in Hilo and May 19 in South Kohala.
Ultimi combines the vocal and instrumental talents of Isaac Hurtado, Tyler Nelson and Brian Stucki. Wednesday’s show will be held at 7 p.m. Palace Theatre and the May 19 show, also at 7 p.m., will be held at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel Ballroom.
Joining forces in February, 2014, the three have separately performed more than 100 operatic tenor roles combined and numerous concerts across the U.S. and abroad. The name “Ultimi” means “Latest” and has a connection to the Italian name of the shared Mormon faith of Isaac, Brian and Tyler.
“The singing group Ultimi is similar to the original 3 Tenors in that each of the three have separate careers as opera singers and get together periodically for concerts. Secondly, their repertoire covers some of the same favorite tunes from opera and Broadway. Ultimi also adds youthful fun on stage to add to the entertainment,” said Frank Meyer, founder of the Hoku Concert Series.
Tickets for the Hilo show are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. They can be purchased by calling the box office of 934-7010. Forty percent of all ticket prices are considered a tax deductible donation to the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.
Tickets for Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel show are $60 at www.hawaiiperformingartsfestival.org or by calling 333-7378. ■
