Protest lawmakers, not soldiers
I don’t care what side of the street you choose to protest from, that’s your choice, but protesting in front of a military base is just wrong.
Stop and think of the young soldiers who are guilty of nothing more then serving our country, willing to put their lives on the line to protect our right to freedom.
These young people give up so many of their own freedoms and leave loved ones behind not always knowing if they will ever see them again, to make matters worse, they have to pass by these protesters, whose only gain was making our troops feel unappreciated.
I don’t care what your intent was, this is the true result. If you don’t believe me ask any of my brothers who returned from Vietnam only to find out that wearing a uniform in public only invited ridicule from the people we honestly thought we were fighting for.
You have a gripe, protest the lawmakers and leave our troops out of it. They have enough problems ahead of them without having idiots standing at the gate protesting their training. Don’t let them spend the rest of their lives being angry at everything and never knowing why. If you can’t understand this, it’s probably because you never served.

Bridge timeline doesn’t add up
This morning on The History Channel it said that the Romans built 1,300-foot bridge across the Rhine River in 10 days. During the war, the Allies built 1,100-foot bridge in Italy in nine days. British military engineers can build a 100-foot pre-fabricated bridge in half an hour.
Only in Hawaii does it take an estimated 12 months and $12 million to rebuild the simple little Alii Bridge next door to Kona Tiki Hotel.
