Mary Gines
Mary Jane Alcera Gines, 70, of Hilo died March 29, 2017, at the Legacy of Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired macadamia nut sorter for the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and was associated with the Hilo Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Friends may call from 10–11 a.m. April 24 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Burial will follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.
She is survived by sons, Valentine Gines Sr. of Hilo, David Gines of Cincinnati; daughters, Glory (Matthew) Jacobs of Waimea, Hawaii, Cheryl (Ronald) Goodknecht of Ewa Beach, Oahu; brother, Anthony Garo of Oahu; sister, Gloria (Denny) Valentin of Keaau; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Nelda Bishop
Nelda Mae Bishop, 86, of Ocean View died March 27, 2017, at her residence. Born May 3, 1930, in Denver, she was a homemaker and a member of the Senior Citizens Group in Ocean View.
Private services were held.
She is survived by son, Craig Bishop of Ocean View; daughter, Gail (Richard) Abbey of Kiowa, Colorado; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews, and several cousins.
