Volunteers needed for Library Count Week

Volunteers needed for Library Count Week

The state public libraries will soon add a second Count Week in April in addition to the normal October dates. The computer system counts check-outs and check-ins automatically, but some libraries use volunteers to help get everything counted. April 25-29 will be the dates at Thelma Parker Library in Waimea.

To volunteer for at least one hour during Count Week, visit the library and check the schedule for open spots on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., plus Wednesdays from 12:30-7:30 p.m.

The purpose is to maintain or increase the library’s basic funding, so that all those wonderful books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines are always available.
