KAILUA-KONA — A home is a total loss after a structure fire in Waimea Tuesday night.
The fire was reported at 9:40 p.m. in the Puu Nani subdivision. According to Hawaii police, no one was home at the time.
The Hawaii Red Cross did respond to the scene. According to a press release from the organization, volunteers responded to the scene and met with a male and his cat to ensure immediate emergency needs of shelter, food and clothing were met.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
