Perfecto Ganancial
Perfecto “Per” Ganancial, 76, of Kawaihae died April 1, 2017, at his residence. Born July 14, 1940, in Pepeekeo, he was a heavy equipment operator for Hawaii Dredging Co. and Goodfellow Brothers, Inc. He was a member of Operator’s Union Local 3.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. April 15 at the Kailapa Community Center at Hawaiian Homes in Kawaihae, and memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Please follow the signs. The family requests causal attire worn and flowers are welcome.
He is survived by wife, Pinki Ganancial of Kawaihae; sons, Keoni Ganancial of Kawaihae, Kawika (Tammy) Ganancial of Waikoloa, and Jacob Ganancial of Oahu; daughters, Toni (Donald) Tolentino and Tema (Junior) Kahuanui, all of Waimea, and Tonia (Russell) Paio of Kailua-Kona; brother, Daniel (Carol) Ganancial of Maui; sisters, Annie Jordan of Honolulu, Margaret Randal of Alaska, and Dorothy Ganancial of Los Angeles; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David Pua Jr.
David Kaluahi Pua Jr., 79, of Pahala died Jan. 22, 2017, at home. Born in Naalehu, he retired as a heavy equipment operator for Ka‘u Sugar Co.
A celebration of life will be held from 8-10 a.m. April 15 at River of Life Assembly of God in Pahala with a service from 10 a.m. to noon. A luncheon will follow. Condolences may be posted at www.ballardfamilymortuaries.com.
He is survived by sons, Duane (Clarissa) Pua of Pahala, Drake Kalani (Eliza) Pua of Oklahoma; brothers, Donald (Connie) Pua, Eugene Pua, all of Kona, HI; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jon Livingstone
Jon “Harley Jon,” “Volvo Jon” Alan Livingstone, 74, of Kailua-Kona died March 7, 2017, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Oct. 14, 1942, in Seattle, he was a self employed mechanic, an airplane builder for Boeing, a former Washington State police officer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by companion, Nina Emmerling of Kailua-Kona; one niece, one nephew.

Amy K. Hashimoto, 95, of Hilo died March 23, 2017, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born Oct. 30, 1921, in Hilo, she was a retired alterations department manager from the former Kurohara’s Shop for Men in Hilo.
Private services held. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
She is survived by sons, Geoffrey Hashimoto of Mossy Rock, Wash., Donn (Diane) Hashimoto of Hilo and Gary Hashimoto of Honolulu; daughter, Cheryl (Greig) Sumida of Hilo; brother, Samuel (Jane) Kurohara of Pasadena, Calif.; sisters, Helen Kanda of Honolulu, Alice (Robert) Fujimoto of Hilo; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Carin Nobuko Seki, 52, of Pahoa died March 15, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on in Milwaukee, she was an office manager at the Hawaiian Shores Community Association, former Human Resource Officer for the Big Island Federal Credit Union, and member of the Lehua Jaycees.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by parents, Yoshikazu and Utako Seki of Pahoa; brother, Nick Seki of Waikoloa; sister, Nina Seki of Junction City, Ore.; aunts and cousins.

Caridad T. Era, 95, of Kealakekua died March 1, 2017, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Sept. 12, 1921, in Washington, D.C., she was a homemaker.

Diane Katherine Doran Wells, 61, of Paauilo died March 24, 2017, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born April 5, 1955, in Phoenix, she was self-employed.

She is survived by husband, Mike Wells of Paauilo; son, Daniel Hefner of Morristown, Tenn.; mother, Julie Weisel of Silnas, Kan.; brother, Kevin Doran of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews.
