Malahini should not take stand on local culture
In response to Saturday’s WHT headline, ‘It’s the assault on our culture,’
As a kamaaina, it’s an assault on my senses when a malahini from upscale Bellevue, Washington moves to HawaiiNei and takes a stand on our cultures and supports his actions with half-truths and innuendoes. He cries religionwhen the travel ban has nothing to do with religion.
Islam is like a three legged stool; the Quran, the Hadith and the Sharia (or Sharia law). A little research will showthat as Muslims move into a country they bring Sharia law with them. In many cases there are major differencesbetween it and the laws and cultures of the lands into which they migrate.
In the past, when migrants arrived in Hawaii Nei they adopted the laws of their host country even as they differedfrom the religion or culture of the countries they left; not so the Muslims. Studies of past and present Muslimmigrations show that not only do they bring their religious beliefs but also their Sharia law.
Now here is the problem, the U.S. legal profession has begun to incorporate Sharia into our legal system. As of2013, all but 16 states have considered such laws. As of 2014, two dozen states have constructed measures torestrict judges from consulting foreign and religious laws in general which includes Sharia law.
Gov. Ige appointed State Attorney General Doug Chin, who knows or should know this. Why then does he put ourvalues and culture at risk? If that is not enough, why does he downplay Jihad against the U.S.? We have thisopportunity to take time out and vet any immigrants. He seems to think our laws and Constitution are somethingto be obeyed but only when convenient.
