South Korean dramas have seen success in a new genre: criminal, law, and thriller. With the recent success of Innocent Defendant starring Ji Sung, which is ending next Monday after 18 episodes, a similar drama is slotted for the same time block. Ji Sung plays Jung Woo Park, a prosecutor who ends up on death row for the murder of his wife and daughter. Suffering from temporary amnesia, he struggles to find the truth and clear his name. A new series Whisper will start on Tuesday, April 18 with 16 episodes planned. Whisper is another legal thriller. The female lead is Bo Young Lee, wife to Jin Sung in real life. Lee plays Young-joo Shin, a successful female detective who partners with Dong-joon Lee, an elite judge to uncover one of the largest scandals within Taebak, the largest law firm. Corruption with money and power is taken to the extreme fueled by an insatiable greed. Detective Lee and Judge Lee are both very stern but have warm hearts to those who are weak. Whisper aired its first episode in Korea on March 27 with very high viewership ratings edging out its competitors.

Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: The criminal investigation team searches the villa that Min-ho and Jennifer Lee stayed at, and finds traces of blood. Jung-woo gives Suk an option, to either prosecute Min-ho or be his scapegoat. Min-ho visits Suk at the prosecutors’ office.
